Meet Recap

The Bulldogs’ first league meet was held on the 3 mile course at Bonelli Park. The West Covina team was lead by senior Issac Granados, who finished 8th overall. He finished with a time of 17:56. He was backed up by teammate, Christian Guerra – who finished with a time of 18:27 and 14th overall. West Covina and Diamond Ranch both scored 80 points, but the tie-breaker went to the Bulldogs because they had the 6th fastest finisher, senior Ramon Avila, who finished 23rd overall.

Meanwhile, on the girl’s side, injuries kept two of our top runners from competing – juniors, Alyssa Ruiz and Carol Ramirez. The varsity girl’s team was lead by freshman, Claudia Vera. She finished 8th overall with a time of 22:34. This is Vera’s second time running the fastest WC time (the first being at the Fastback Shootout). Unfortunately, West Covina was not able to score in this race because one of the five runners had to drop out due to an injury from the course. You need a minimum of five runners to fill a team.

Both teams will be training extensively to compete for the number one spot at the second league meet held on Wednesday, October 4th.
