West Covina Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Thousand Oaks
West Covina ran off with the lead late in the game in a 5-2 victory over Thousand Oaks on Thursday. The game was tied at two with West Covina batting in the top of the sixth when Taylor Graciano singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Thousand Oaks knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning. Zoe Ballen grounded out, scoring one run.
Nadya Orozco got the win for West Covina. She went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four.
Ballen took the loss for Thousand Oaks. She surrendered five runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
Clarissa Cruz went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead West Covina in hits.
